Reusing Requirements in TopTeam

Overview

You can reuse requirements in TopTeam using the Reuse Record Wizard. You can reuse requirements using the following methods:

  • TopTeam main menu
  • Requirements Document
  • OneView Document

Invoking Reuse Records Wizard

From TopTeam Main Menu

From Requirements Document

  • Requirements Document Tree

You can open Requirements Tree from TopTeam main menu > Requirements > Requirements Tree Editor.

  • Requirements Document Editor

You can open Requirements Document Editor from TopTeam main menu > Requirements > Requirements Document Editor.

From OneView Document

  • From Requirements Section Toolbar

Alternatively, you can invoke this wizard from the Add Child drop-down menu.

You can also invoke this wizard from Reuse Manager > Main > Share Records Wizard.

Note that some pages may be skipped in the wizard based on the location of the invocation.

Using Reuse Record Wizard

For information on how to reuse Requirements using Reuse Record Wizard, refer to the process demonstrations below:

Select source document to reuse records

Detailed information on each page shown in the process demonstration above:

  1. Welcome page of the wizard.
  2. From where do you want to reuse records: On this page, select the interface where you want to resue records. Note that to reuse requirements, you can choose either OneView Document or Requirements Document option.
  3. From which source Requirements Document do you want to reuse records: On this page, select Requirements Document from which you want to reuse records.
  4. Where do you want to reuse records: On this page, choose the interface in which you want to reuse records. Note that requirements can be reused only in OneView or Requirements Document interface.

Select destination for the reused records

  1. Specify the destination for the reused records: On this page, specify a destination for the reused records. Options on this page appear based on the option you chose on the previous page.
  2. Select records that you want to reuse: On this page, select records that you want to reuse in the specified destination.
  3. What should happen when the reused records are updated in the source Project: On this page, choose the update method as automatic or manual to update the reused records in the source project. Choose Automatic Update when you want the records in the destination project to be updated automatically whenever their source records are updated. Choose Manual Update when you want the records in the destination project to be updated manually by you.
  4. Summary: On this page, you can view summary of the records that are to be reused. Click Reuse to proceed with reuse.
  5. Please select the links that you want to reconcile in Destination Project: On this page, select the trace links of reused records that you want to reconcile in the destination project.
  6. View Action Log and click Finish to finish the wizard.
