Using Traceability Tab

What is the Traceability tab?

TopTeam provides the capability to link related records with Traceability. Traceability is the technique of documenting derivation or dependency relationships between artifacts of a system. It is defined by establishing “Trace Links” between system artifacts.

Traceability relationships are also used to define “requirements flow downs”.

The Traceability tab is a child tab on detail editor of any repository object’s record. It shows the list of all Trace Links (forward and reverse) for the repository object’s record.

For example, when you embed a link “Use Case Diagram > Traces From > Use Case“, it automatically creates a relationship “Use Case > Traces Into > Use Case Diagram“.

  • Viewing all forward/reverse Traces for a repository object
  • Adding a forward/reverse Trace Link for a repository object
  • Creating a new traced record
  • Deleting a Trace Link
  • Marking/clearing the Suspect status of a link
