\nYou can run TopTeam VSTS Connector<\/i> using any one of the following options:<\/p>\n\n- Using the Windows Start menu.<\/li>\n
- Using the shortcut on Windows desktop.<\/li>\n
- Starting the TopTeam VSTS Connector’s Executable directly from the installation folder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

- Double-click the shortcut to run TopTeam VSTS Connector.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
Option 3 – Run TopTeam Connector for VSTS from the installation folder<\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\nStep 1. TopTeam VSTS Connector opens<\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\nStep 2. Login to TopTeam Application Server<\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\nIf you are connecting for the first time, define the connection profile by clicking the Manage<\/strong><\/i> <\/strong>button.
\nChoose User Data.
\nEnter the TopTeam Username<\/i> and Password<\/i>.

Login to Team Foundation Server<\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\nAuthentication Method:<\/strong><\/p>\nYou can select Authentication Method <\/strong>as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Basic Authentication:<\/strong> for authenticating using Username<\/i> and Password<\/i>.<\/li>\n

Step 4. Indicate which action you’d like to perform<\/h3>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\nYou can choose from the following options:<\/p>\n
1. Synchronize Data<\/strong><\/p>\nChoose this option when you want to synchronize data between TopTeam Repository and Team Foundation Server for an already defined synchronization scheme.
\nIf you have not configured the mapping between TopTeam Project and Team System Project, choose Configure Synchronization Settings.<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n\n- Refer to the article Synchronizing records between TopTeam and TFS repositories using TopTeam VSTS Connector<\/a> for a step-by-step guide on synchronizing data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
2. Configure Synchronization Settings<\/strong><\/p>\nChoose this option when you want to configure settings for synchronizing data between TopTeam Project and Team System Project.<\/p>\n

IMPORTANT<\/h3>\n\nMicrosoft Visual Studio Team Services<\/i> (Cloud) does not support the API call required to create custom Work Item Types(WITs)<\/i>. Therefore, you have to manually create WITs corresponding to TopTeam<\/i> artifact types (record types that you want to synchronize) on VSTS Cloud and then synchronize corresponding TopTeam<\/i> artifact types (record types) with VSTS Cloud.<\/p>\n
