TopTeam<\/em>\u00a0is a robust and comprehensive tool that supports all functions of many roles within an organization including those of the\u00a0Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, Systems Analyst<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0Product Manager<\/em>. These functions include Context Diagrams<\/em> through Business Process Modeling<\/em>, Requirements Management and Traceability<\/em>, Use Case<\/em> and User Story<\/em> development, Screen Prototyping<\/em>, Test Case<\/em> generation, and Issue Tracking<\/em>, etc.<\/p>\n There are three concepts which are fundamental to\u00a0TopTeam<\/em>\u00a0and are key to these functions:<\/p>\n TopTeam<\/em>\u00a0repository is the central storage area of information. It is a collection of different types of objects or records that can be accessed in order to view, add or edit information.\u00a0TopTeam<\/em>\u00a0has a dual repository architecture:\u00a0Object Repository<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Tracking Items Repository<\/strong>.<\/p>\n A Project<\/strong> in TopTeam <\/em>is similar to a real-life software project or product. TopTeam <\/em>supports hierarchical organization of projects. For example, you can create a root project and within it sub-projects, etc. All records belong to a project and all work is done within a project.<\/p>\n Each\u00a0TopTeam<\/em>\u00a0project has an\u00a0Object Repository\u00a0<\/em>that stores all kinds of Development Artifacts<\/em> (records) such as\u00a0Requirements<\/em>, Features<\/em>, Use Cases<\/em>, Test Cases<\/em>, references to source files, stored procedures, etc. Each\u00a0TopTeam<\/em>\u00a0project also has a\u00a0Tracking Items<\/em> Repository<\/em>\u00a0which stores tracking information such as\u00a0Issues<\/em>, Change Requests<\/em>, Defects<\/em>, Tasks<\/em>, etc.<\/p>\n Each project has a project manager and team members. Projects can only be created and modified by users with complete administrative rights or by users who have been granted permission to create projects. Users only have access to the projects to which they have been assigned as team members. Security is maintained based on individual user security or security permissions based on Roles<\/em> and Role Grants<\/em>.<\/p>\n Each record (object\/artifact) is a record type. A record type may be a Requirement Type<\/em> record (e.g. Business Requirement<\/em>, Software Requirement<\/em>, Non-Functional Requirement<\/em>, Buisness Rule<\/em>, etc.) or a Non-requirement Type<\/em> record (e.g. Use Case<\/em>, User Story<\/em>, Change Request<\/em>, Document<\/em>, Glossary<\/em>, Test Case<\/em>, etc.).
