Overview<\/h3>\n\nLinking in TopTeam<\/i> allows you to link two or more records in the system. A link type can either be a Traceability Link <\/i>or an Other<\/em>\u00a0Link<\/em>.<\/i> You can create link relationships between two Repository Objects<\/i> or Tracking Items<\/i> and between a Repository Object<\/i> and a Tracking Item<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\nThis article explains how to create a custom Link Type<\/i> in TopTeam<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nWho should read this?<\/h3>\n\n\n- TopTeam Administrators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
Prerequisites<\/h3>\n\n\n- You must have System Administrator<\/i> permissions to create a custom Link Type.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nStep 2. The Administration screen displays, click Configure System Link Types<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nStep 3. Click Define System Link Types<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\nStep 4. The Manage Link Types screen displays<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\nBy default, Select Link Type<\/i> will be set to the Trace<\/i> radio button. However, if you wish to create an Other Link Type<\/i>, select the Other<\/i> radio button.<\/p>\n
NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- An Other Link Type<\/i> does NOT allow “Automatic Cascade Suspect<\/i>” processing of the newly created Link Type<\/i>.<\/li>\n
- There are existing Trace Link Types<\/i> such as Impacts<\/i>, Used In<\/i>, Traces Into<\/i>, etc. which are listed in a table, as seen in the image below. However, if you need to describe a relationship between system elements that is different from the already available Link Types<\/i> then, perform the following steps to create a new custom Link Type<\/i>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
