You can upgrade TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> using the TopTeam Database Schema installer<\/i>. This installer <\/i>can be downloaded from the TechnoSolutions Customer Portal<\/a> (access to Customer Portal is available only to licensed customers).<\/p>\nThis article explains the procedure to upgrade TopTeam Firebird Database Schema.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\nWho should read this?<\/h3>\n\n\n- Database Administrators<\/li>\n

Preparations<\/h3>\n\n1. Find the current version of TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> installed on your system. <\/strong>Refer to the article How to find TopTeam Database Schema Version<\/a>.<\/p>\n2. Find the version of TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> that is required for the new version of TopTeam<\/i>.<\/strong><\/p>\nYou can get this information from the release notes or upgrade instructions for the new release.
\nYou need to upgrade TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> ONLY IF the database schema version required is greater than what is currently installed on your system.<\/p>\n
3. Download the Firebird DB Schema Upgrade installer from the TechnoSolutions Customer Portal<\/a><\/strong> (access to Customer Portal is available only to licensed customers) or any other links provided to you.<\/strong><\/p>\nChoose the database schema upgrade installer based on your database type (SQL, Oracle or Firebird) and the TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> version required for the new version of TopTeam<\/i> that you want to upgrade to.<\/p>\n
The name of the installer indicates the database type and the database schema version to which it upgrades.
\nThe installer file name format is:<\/p>\n
TopTeam<Database Type><\/strong>DBSchemaUpgrade_<Upgrades from Version><\/strong>_to_<Upgrades To Version><\/strong>_<Release Date><\/strong>.exe<\/p>\nE.g. TopTeamIB<\/strong>DBSchemaUpgrade_2.9<\/strong>_TO_5.0<\/strong>_18Dec09<\/strong>.exe<\/p>\nHere,<\/p>\n
\n- IB <\/strong>– indicates that this installer is for Firebird Database. Other possible values can be SQL<\/strong><\/i> for SQL Server and ORA<\/strong><\/i> for Oracle Database.<\/li>\n
- 2.9 <\/strong>– indicates that any version of TopTeam Firebird Database Schema<\/i> which is equal to or higher than 2.9 can be upgraded using this installer.<\/li>\n
- 5.0 <\/strong>– indicates that this installer will upgrade TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> to version 5.0.<\/li>\n
- 18Dec09<\/strong> – indicates the date on which the installer was released.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
You should choose the installer that satisfies the following conditions:<\/p>\n
\n- the <Database type><\/strong> of the installer should be IB.<\/li>\n
- the <Upgrades from Version><\/strong> should be equal to or lower than the TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> version currently installed on your system.<\/li>\n
- the <Upgrades to Version><\/strong> should be equal to the TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> version to which you want to upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
For example, if you want to upgrade your TopTeam Database<\/i> to version 5.4 and the TopTeam Database Schema<\/i> version currently installed on your system is 3.9, then choose the installer which has IB as <database type>, <Upgrades from Version> less than or equal to 3.9, and <Upgrades to Version> with 5.4 in its name.<\/p>\n
E.g. TopTeamIBDbSchemaUpgrade_2.9_to_5.4_<Any Release Date>.exe<\/p>\n
4. Identify “Firebird Database for TopTeam” to which you want to upgrade.<\/strong><\/p>\nYou must run the TopTeam Database Schema installer<\/i> from the same computer on which Firebird Database<\/i> is installed. You cannot run the upgrade from a remote computer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\nIMPORTANT: STOP TopTeam Application Server and TopTeam Web Server<\/h3>\n\nStop ALL access to TopTeam<\/i> database.<\/p>\n
TopTeam Firebird Database Schema<\/i> cannot be upgraded if there is an application connected to it.<\/p>\n
1. Stop TopTeam Application Server<\/strong><\/p>\n If your TopTeam Application Server<\/i> is running as a Windows Service, refer to the article How to start and stop TopTeam Application Server Service using Management Console<\/a>.
